Before assembling, check for accuracy of fit and degrease. Remove sprues with saw/cutter. Carefully heat and straighten warped parts. Work carefully! Glue with 2K or superglue.

Crash helmet (possibly obtained privately): Leather, various shades of brown or black possible
Overjacket M 1916: field gray moleskin (cotton)
Field trousers M 1910: field gray with ponceau red piping (side seam)
alternatively field trousers M 1915: gray cloth without piping (side seam)
Lace-up shoes and gaiters: brown leather (blackened from autumn 1915).
Gloves: Brown or black leather lined with fur
Scarf: evidently often civilian production; grey, field grey/dark green or other muted colours, patterns also possible (horizontal and vertical stripes)

Field cap with peak: field grey; trim strips black; ponceaured piping; peak and chin straps black leather; State cockade (e.g. Prussia - black/white/black), over it German cockade (black/white/red)
Crash helmet M 1913: mostly black or field gray lacquered leather, multi-colored variants can also occur. E.g. white body with black bulges
